Mansion Student Announces its Live Rent Free 2014 Winner

The opportunity to live rent free for a year is something that many students would jump at - with one lucky student from Warrington getting to do just that, thanks to Mansion Student.

Fourth year student Emily Rose Whittle, who studies Speech and Language Therapy at De Montfort University in Leicester, was crowned the winner of Mansion Student's 2014 Live Rent Free competition. Her initial reaction: "I am still trying to get over the fact I have won. I didn't believe them when I was first told."

Having lived in a shared house during her third year of university, Emily chose to enter Mansion Student's competition to live rent free for a year in the Leicester based Mansion Court student accommodation for a number of reasons: Mansion Court is located very close to De Montfort University, with the hotspots of Leicester on its doorstep - as well as bills being included in the rent.

David Walker, Hospitality Manager for Mansion Court, said: "You literally can't get accommodation any closer."

When asked what she would spend the extra money on, Emily explained that she was considering putting it towards the cost of a car, as she is currently undertaking driving lessons - "or I might go on a little spending spree!" she added.
