Finalists of the 2011 CPhI Innovation Awards Announced
The internationally acclaimed CPhI Innovation Awards were established to recognise, celebrate and honour those companies and organisations that are breaking new ground in the pharmaceutical, contract services, packaging and biopharmaceutical. Entry categories are open to all exhibitors at the events and were expanded to reflect the zoned layout of the 2011 events. Submissions were accepted from the following areas: APIs, Custom Manufacturing, Intermediates, Excipients/Formulation, Fine Chemicals, Finished Dosage, Contract Services, Drug Delivery Systems and Biopharmaceuticals. When choosing the finalists, the judges looked for the innovations that encouraged the imagination and are commercially practical.
"Once again, the standard of entries has been very high, and our experienced team of judges had a very difficult job whittling them down to just six finalists," says Annemieke Timmers, CPhI Brand Director. "We thank all the companies who took the time to enter, and encourage people to attend the presentations at the show on 25 October to find out more about why the judges were impressed by the finalists' entries."
The chosen finalists will each make 20 minute presentations to the judge's panel on Tuesday, 25th October between 10.00 and 12.50 on booth 51D02. The panel is comprised of senior personnel from some of the industry's leading pharma organizations. Since 2007, this panel has included Dr. Hendrik Baumann - CU Chemie Uetikon, Mr. Zoran Buncic - Pliva, Dr. Didier Bensoussan - Dr. Reddy's Laboratories (UK) Ltd., Dr. Hans-Leonhard Ohrem - Merck KGaA and Dr. Andreas Stolle - Saltigo Gmb, and in 2011, the panel has a new member, Dr. Michael Platscher of Merck and Cie.Later that evening, the judging panel will announce the Gold, Silver and Bronze winners, plus runners up, at the Exhibitor Party held from 17.30-19.30 in the Europa hall.
