"Farnborough is a highlight in our aerospace calendar of events as it consistently attracts the largest gathering of aviation customers, manufacturers, suppliers, and government representatives," said Guy C. Hachey, President and Chief Operating Officer, Bombardier Aerospace. "This is also an opportunity to launch our new brand, The Evolution of Mobility, to a global audience. In just a few words, we have encapsulated our promise to all our stakeholders - to create better ways to move people.

"While the business and commercial aircraft markets continue to recover, and are trending positively, current indicators remain mixed," Mr. Hachey continued. "Bombardier will stay ahead by investing in its future. We are strengthening our global reach by seizing opportunities in key markets, by expanding in emerging countries, and by responding to our customers' needs to develop innovative and sustainable solutions. While we are a global company, we remain local with an ever-growing network of service centres and production sites in communities around the world."

Featured on static display will be five airplanes from Bombardier's portfolio of business and commercial aircraft, including the ultra long-range Global 6000 jet - featuring the new Vision Flight Deck - the super midsize Challenger 300 jet, the Learjet 45 XR aircraft, the Q400 NextGen turboprop airliner and the CRJ900 NextGen regional jet. In the static display area, guests will also experience the next-generation of commercial air travel when they enter Bombardier's unique CSeries aircraft dome.

The CSeries aircraft dome features geodesic fabric architecture and, for the first time in Europe, will house the CSeries aircraft's flight deck demonstrator. Making his debut this year at the Farnborough Airshow, Mike Arcamone, President, Bombardier Commercial Aircraft, will be on hand to welcome visitors who will also experience the single-aisle CSeries aircraft's widebody-type environment in the aircraft's cabin demonstrator. State-of-the-art 2D and 3D entertainment will also feature prominently in the CSeries aircraft dome.

The Farnborough International Airshow runs from Monday, July 9, to Friday, July 13, for trade visitors, and Saturday, July 14 to Sunday, July 15, for public visitors.

The Bombardier chalet, located at C 1-2-3, will be closed Sunday, July 15. The CSeries dome, located at OE3, near Hall 1 will be closed Saturday, July 14 and Sunday, July 15.

Business Aircraft

Bombardier has over 560 business jets based in Europe, representing a market share of approximately 28 per cent. With the recent launch of its Learjet 70 and Learjet 75 jets, and the ongoing development of the Learjet 85, Global 7000 and Global 8000 jets, Bombardier is poised for further growth worldwide.

"Business aviation remains strong in Europe, and our recent market forecast confirms the positive outlook for the region," said Steve Ridolfi, President, Bombardier Business Aircraft. "When coupled with our new program launches, a bright future for European business aviation and recent Challenger jet record order, this year's Farnborough airshow is the perfect opportunity for Bombardier to showcase its excellence as the world's leading business aircraft manufacturer."

Bombardier's recently published financial results for the first quarter of calendar year 2012 show further evidence of positive momentum, reflected by 40 net orders for business aircraft and 29 deliveries between January 1 and March 31, 2012.

Commercial Aircraft

There are more than 2,900 Bombardier Dash8/Q-Series turboprops, CRJ regional jets and CSeries mainline jetliners in operation, or ordered by customers around the world. Almost 560 of these are in service with, or have been ordered by, operators in Europe, including Russia and the Commonwealth Independent States.

Looking forward, Bombardier's Commercial Aircraft Forecast 2012-2031 predicts deliveries of 12,800 new commercial aircraft with 20 to 149 seats, with Europe expected to take delivery of 2,240 units, or 18 per cent.

As the global demand for air travel and new aircraft continues to shift towards growth markets, Bombardier Commercial Aircraft has significantly increased the size of its marketing and sales teams, placing a strong emphasis on the growth markets to meet the demand. Representatives from all sales regions will be at the airshow to meet with customers and prospects.

Bombardier is the only manufacturer that offers three distinct families of turboprop and jet aircraft, and each family is optimized for the market segment it is designed to serve. Thus the Company is well placed to satisfy its markets' continuing requirements.

Putting operators first locally, globally

Bombardier is one of the few Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) positioned to provide its customers with a value-added aftermarket offering for both business and commercial aircraft. The company continues to build on this network through a continued global expansion. Recently, Bombardier announced the ground breaking of its new, wholly owned Singapore Service Centre, which will further strengthen its substantial footprint in Asia-Pacific.

Its far-reaching global service network consists of more than 60 maintenance facilities in 27 countries, nine Regional Support Office locations and superior aircraft parts availability sustained by ten parts depots on five continents. Bombardier's team of field service representatives around the world provide on-site technical support and AOG coordination, with an international deployment strategy to boost staffing. The experienced instructors at Bombardier Aircraft Training put the company in a unique position to bring real world experience to the classroom to maximize pilot and technical training. Business and commercial aircraft customers also benefit from Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) services in Belfast, Dallas and Wichita.

To complement its extensive support network, Bombardier offers optimized maintenance and support solutions through its Smart Services programs. With more than 25 years' experience in providing cost protection and budget predictability for its business aircraft customers, the pioneering Smart Parts program has continued to expand with the adoption of Q400 Smart Parts by numerous regional carriers worldwide.

Bombardier aircraft on static display

Learjet 45 XR aircraft: When compared to its closest competitor, the eight-to-nine passenger Learjet 45 XR aircraft flies faster and farther, with more passengers(i). The jet's passenger cabin area is approximately 15 inches (38 cm) longer and features the only double-club seating configuration in its class, making it an ideal product for charter and fractional operators.

Challenger 300 aircraft: This first true super-midsize aircraft offers transcontinental range and superior long-range cruise speed, with eight-to-ten passengers. It can fly London-Kuweit non-stop with a full payload and its superior airfield performance allows it to operate out of 5,000-foot (1,524-m) runways with ease(i). The Challenger 300 jet offers the best performance and value in its class combined with a dispatch reliability consistently over 99.7 per cent - this aircraft has exceeded customer expectations since its entry-into-service in 2004.

Global 6000 aircraft: The Global 6000 business jet features the largest cabin of any purpose-built corporate aircraft - offering more cabin volume and more floor space than its closest competitor. No other business jet in the ultra long-range segment matches the high-speed range capability delivered by this aircraft. Offering the ultimate in cabin comfort, this impressive jet can link London-Tokyo non-stop with eight passengers and three-to-four crew(i).

Q400 NextGen aircraft: The "comfortably greener" 70- to 80-seat Q400 NextGen turboprop airliner is a large, fast, fuel-efficient aircraft that provides an ideal balance of passenger comfort and operating economics. It uses 30 to 40 per cent less fuel and produces 30 to 40 per cent fewer emissions on routes where it has replaced similar-capacity older jets. The Q400 NextGen aircraft's maximum cruise speed of 360 knots lets it fly on demand-driven interchangeable schedules with jets. However, the Q400 aircraft can slow down to achieve fuel parity with other turboprops on a per-seat basis, while still maintaining both speed and cost advantages.

CRJ900 NextGen aircraft: Like other members of the CRJ Series family of aircraft, the light weight and advanced aerodynamics of the CRJ900 NextGen regional jet combine to deliver improved efficiency and reduced operating costs compared to other aircraft in its class. The combination of a larger winglet and other optimizations give this regional jet excellent airfield capabilities and enroute fuel consumption.

Both the Q400 NextGen and CRJ900 NextGen aircraft feature new interiors, larger overhead luggage bins, improved lighting and redesigned ceiling panels and sidewalls.
