Small Businesses Get Crucial Fraud Protection Service

192.com has launched VouchID, an ID verification service for small businesses. SMEs increasingly need to combat fraud by their customers, particularly where they are selling over the Internet to people that they have never met.
Until now they have found it hard to access the online fraud protection services that have long been available to larger companies. Such ID verification companies have minimum order values that exceed budgets of many small companies.

On submission of a name and address and optional date of birth, VouchID will confirm the individual's credentials against a number of private and public databases, confirm that the individual is not dead (to prevent identity theft), check the date of birth, and whether they are over 18 in the case of age restricted products.
The service will also alert if there are any negative indicators about the person, such as County Court Judgments. It is also well suited for lawyers conducting electronic KYC (Know Your Customer) checks.
This is all done within seconds and for an entry level cost of just £20 (ex VAT) for 10 ID checks.
