Northern Irish, Money-Saving Mum Wows Judges to Win £10,000

After a gruelling and competitive month-long search, Savoo.co.uk , the money-saving and voucher code site, has found the UK's most knowledgeable and smartest shopper.Jennie Hammond, a single mum from Belfast , beat thousands of rivals to claim the title, a cheque for £10,000 and the opportunity to work with Savoo to create an award-winning, money-saving blog.

With 10 finalists undergoing interviews from some of the UK's most revered money-savers, to be crowned the UK's smartest shopper is some achievement.  Marc Lockley, the author of 'How to Pay Less For More' and award-winning money saving blogger Miss Thrifty joined last year's inaugural winner - Ricky Willis aka Skint Dad - on the independent panel. There could be only one winner and Jennie prevailed due to the judges' amazement at her incredible knowledge of the money-saving industry in such a short period of time.

Jennie's story and situation is one that more and more women find themselves in recently.  She said, "Being a single Mum can be tough some times; when I got a letter from my bank telling me my overdraft was being reduced, I knew I had to do something about my finances.  Winning the £10,000 and being able to work with Savoo to build a blog is a great opportunity.  If I can be half as successful as Ricky Willis I will have done well.  In the meantime, I think it's time to have a great Christmas and maybe take my sister, her child and my son away for a holiday next year"
