- The Transrussia trade fair is a very important market place in our efforts to make our different offerings available to the markets in the East. Our aim is to be an important player in the logistics sector in such important markets as the Baltics, Russia, the CIS countries, says Björn Petrusson, Stena Lines Freight Director.

During the last few years one area of development for Stena Line Freight has been intermodal solutions. One of the projects is the Green Corridor project that gives customers smooth border-crossing and intermodal solutions for goods going to and from the Russian market.

- Stena Line is a certified Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) offering efficient and fully compliant customs controls and security in the international supply chain. Stena Line has joined the project to establish a so-called 'Green Corridor' between Latvia (European Union) and Russia (Customs Union). Any customer with regular volumes to Russia and who has an interest in simplified border and import procedures, is invited to join Stena Line in this project, says Aivars Taurins, Regional Director for Stena Line in the Baltics.

Another project is running together with Russia's largest rail container operator, TransContainer, giving customers intermodal services towards Russia and the CIS countries.

- We are offering a combined service from Germany and Sweden via the Baltics to Russia. Containers for loading can be obtained from hubs located in Hamburg, Duisburg, Rotterdam and Stockholm (Nynäshamn). This combined service includes the transhipment of containers for loading and intermodal shipment from the port to the railway in Russia and CIS, says Aivars Taurins.

On the Karlskrona-Gdynia route that is well positioned between Belarus and Scandinavia markets, a cooperation between Stena Line, Green Cargo and Logent are giving customers a completely new set-up of transport alternatives.

- In the cooperation we are linking together a number of strategically located cities in Sweden where Logent are handling the terminals, Green Cargo the rail transport and Stena Line the sea transport. This is a solution that will be very important for both export and import in the Scandinavian countries, says Björn Petrusson.

On 31 March Stena Line acquired the service between Rosslare in Ireland and Cherbourg in France.  This is a strategically important acquisition for Stena Line and one which will help stimulate and strengthen new and existing opportunities for trade between Ireland, France and beyond.

At the Transrussia Trade Fair, Stena Line Freight will be located in Pavilion 1 Hall 4, stand number D137.
