Pro Ecuador UK Starts Off 2015
At the IFE, the Ecuadorian stand will be presenting 8 companies' products. Amongst these are Amerifoods (fruit and vegetable conserves and purées); Asiservy (canned tuna); El Café (premium soluble coffee); NIRSA (canned tuna and prawns); Pacari (organic couverture and bar chocolate producer); Plaintain Republic (banana crisps); Uyamafarms (avocado oil and pepper producer) and Montecristi Chocolate (organic couverture chocolate producer). Ecuador will also have a space in the "Tastes of the World" section, where a Chef will prepare 3 dishes live, using the products that are exhibited in the stand. Come and visit the Ecuadorian Stand at the ExCel London from the 22nd until the 25th of March.
Pro Ecuador will also participate in this year's LAIF, where the team will speak with investors and companies that are interested in doing business in Ecuador. 2014 showed there is significant interest from UK and international firms in the Hospitality, Agricultural and Infrastructure sectors.
Mr. Mena, Head of Pro Ecuador UK said that the aim for this year is "to build on the progress we achieved in 2014 getting Ecuador on the radar of importers across the UK as well as raising awareness among the investment community of the great opportunities available in our country". Tostado, the first Ecuadorian restaurant, opened in Soho recently and showcases some of our local gastronomy, using some of our finest ingredients. "We hope that this trend will continue to bring our countries closer together".
Ecuador's exports to the UK have reached USD 167 million until November 2014. They have been stable in the last year, with some products growing and others contracting. We expect an important growth in Ecuador's exports this year, boosted by the big South American cuisine trend in the UK.
Later in the year, the 2015 edition of Ecuador Exquisito will take place and will feature some of the most popular elements from last year such as tastings, dinners and presentations. Follow us to find out about our next events!
