Truly Unstoppable: P2i Recognized as the 'Most Innovative Company in Europe' for a Record-Breaking Fourth Year Running
The IBA credited P2i's development of an innovative system to treat rolls of filtration media, which are then used to manufacture air vent filters for use in a wide range of electronic devices, from hard disk-drives to car head-lamps. The patented process applies a nano-coating to the filtration media which generates the highest levels of water and oil repellency without affecting the airflow. This high level of repellency extends the lifetime of the filter and allows it to be used in harsh environments with high levels of water and oil-mist contamination. The P2i coating system not only provides a high level of technical effect but also increases product output compared with previous generations of equipment.
Dr Stephen Coulson, Chief Technical Officer at P2i, commented on the results: "to win the award for the fourth year running demonstrates the revolutionary nature of P2i and our continuous commitment to innovation in the nano-technology industry."
The IBAs are the world's premier business awards program. All individuals and organizations worldwide - public and private, for-profit and non-profit, large and small - are eligible to submit nominations. The 2014 IBAs received entries from more than 60 nations and territories with over 3,500 nominations from organizations in virtually every industry.
"Although we have previously been recognised for our liquid repellent nano-coating for electronic devices, it is fantastic to showcase the last twelve months efforts to develop this roll-to-roll system. It is set to make a big impact in the filtration industry and will also prove effective in many other markets, such as high performance textiles and packaging," said Dr. Coulson.
Truly unstoppable, P2i also beat off fierce UK competition to be recognized as a 'National Champion' by The European Business Awards. The next stage of the competition will see P2i submit a video entry to gain the illustrious 'Ruban d'Honneur' status.
