Danish Head Football Coach: Ukraine has Excellent Training Bases

"I did not have a chance to see everything I intended to. Everything I have seen so far, however, was first rate," commented Olsen upon inspecting the accommodation and training conditions in Ukraine. "The hotels [in Ukraine] meet the European standards," added the Danish coach. In his interview with Danish journalists, Olsen confessed that what he saw in Ukraine exceeded his expectations. The conditions were not nearly as bad as described, for instance, by the German and the British, pointed out the Danish expert. He heavily disagreed with the statement that Ukrainian bases were of poor quality.   "… Beyond any doubt the quality of the training bases in Ukraine will be good," said Olsen.

The management of the Danish national team, however, has not made a final decision on the team's placement during the championship. The inspecting commission still has to finish its tour around Ukraine and proceed to Poland. The Danish football management is eyeing Odesa and its Spartak stadium for positioning the team, reported Danish sporten.dk. The Danish national team will play in the Group B in Ukraine's Lviv and Kharkiv.

Moreover, the coach of the France national football team Laurent Blanc was considering Donetsk as a training base for his team, reported BBC UK. Sweden team, now playing in Group D, had two training camp options [Kyiv and another in Poland], however, after the final draw in Kyiv on December 2 the team cancelled its Polish option, according to the reputable British media network. On the other hand, the England national team has planned to base itself in Polish Krakow, despite the fact that all of their games were recently scheduled to take place in Ukraine. Ukraine's Deputy Prime Minister Kolesnikov suggested English team's manager Fabio Capello to change the planned camp in Poland for a Ukrainian alternative.

The finalists of the EURO 2012 championship have to finalize their plans concerning accommodation and training camps before December 16.
