VALSUSA FILMFEST ANNOUNCES CALL FOR ENTRIES
TO THE XVI FILM COMPETITION

The XV Valsusa Filmfest notice of competition it’s online.
In www.valsusafilmfest.it there are the contest, the regulation and the entry form. The deadline is march 15th, 2012.
Among the sections of contest, one is reserved to musical videoclips.
The Valsusa Filmfest is a film and video festival open to exchange and debate on the independent production. Main themes are history, memorial heritage and environmental issues. Through different approaches the Valsusa Filmfest aims to educate as many people as possible on our past and present times and relies on the new generation as well as the use of images and technology to show changes, improvements and difficulties in nowadays cultural field.
The XVI Filmfest edition will take place from april 14th to april 25th 2012 in some places of Valle di Susa, near Torino in the north of Italy.
The main theme of the XV edition is Contended Earths:
“there are precious earths and rare earths, earths of border and earths of passage. And there are many uses of the earth in competition among them: agriculture and bio-fuel, housebuilding and landscape, factory-farm and photovoltaic panels.
Also in the epoch of the liquid society and the economy based on the finance, earth remains an element around which ideas, affairs and different sensibility are assembled: an equitable distribution is still a mirage today.
From west to east, from south to north, in every latitude and in every time a solution is not only looked for the ownership of the earth, but also a difficult synthesis among vocation of the earth and possibility of life for the residents.
And when the synthesis is not found, it gets up the challenging level. After the second world war, the greatest conflict in Europe has interested the Balkans where economic factors, masquerades behind ethnic and religious differences, have steeped in blood the earths where had been meeting, for centuries, East and West. In 2012, 20 years have passed by the beginning of that fratricidal conflict”.
The competition sections are: Documentaries, The Alps, Short Films, Historical Memory and Musical Videoclips.
