Furthermore, EDF submitted to ASN on 7 October 2016 a technical report supporting the fully safe operation of all the steam generators concerned by the issue of carbon segregation.

The EDF Group today informed the electricity markets of the chosen outage periods and is providing regular information to (RTE), which has responsibility for balancing electrical power supply and demand and for ensuring the system's security of supply.

Considering these circumstances, their impact on the wholesale power market and the resulting speculative effects, EDF today called upon both the Minister of Economy and Finance and the Minister of the Environment, Energy and the Sea to take, in order to avoid these effects, all necessary measures under the regulated access to historical nuclear power (ARENH) mechanism, including, as the case may be, the temporary suspension of the scheme.
