To mark World AIDS Day and celebrate AIDS Healthcare Foundation’s (AHF) 30th anniversary, AHF is hosting a free concert and community event at Miami’s Bayfront Park Amphitheatre tonight, Friday December 1st. Hosted by comedian Aida Rodriquez and featuring Grammy-nominated artist and actress Sheila E., Latin Grammy Award-winning reggae artist Yandel and hot, new singer-songwriter Becky G., the event will feature a special presentation by the Honorable Carmen Yulin Cruz, Mayor of San Juan, Puerto Rico. Mayor Cruz will give a moving update on post-hurricane Puerto Rico, sharing the current needs for recovery of the island and will issue a ‘call to action’ for further community support.

Prior to the concert, Mayor Yulin Cruz took part in a press conference at the nearby Intercontinental Hotel to raise awareness about the continuing needs of the U.S. island territory ten weeks after it was devastated by Hurricane Maria. Also participating in the press conference were Florida State Representative David Richardson (D-113th District), the first openly gay state representative in state history and who has significant representation of Puerto Rican constituents in his district, and AHF president Michael Weinstein.
