Il portavoce del governo giapponese Katsunobu Kato ha detto che il suo governo è ''preoccupato'' e sta lavorando con Stati Uniti e Corea del Sud per monitorare la situazione. L'agenzia di stampa sudcoreana Yohap ha spiegato che l'esercito di Seul sta valutando la situazione con attenzione insieme agli Stati Uniti Gli Stati Uniti monitorano la situazione. La Corea del Nord ha testato con successo un nuovo missile da crociera a lungo raggio.
